Open Mind June 2, 2010 R. Martin 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just purchaced The Master Cleaner and was considering giving it a try. But I wanted to read other opinions first. One thing struck me from the negative feedback. The insistance that craving food or denying the body of food was somehow harmful or bad to the body. I imagine we as humans have a very good system in our bodies for handling periods of lack of food. But, because of the way Americans eat, these systems are not used enough or appreciated. I say its okay to be hungry sometimes. I do not need to loose weight but if I do this I know I may have some periods of hunger that I will overcome. But I am confident my body can handle it. This is the process and I understand that.
Don't do it! April 2, 2010 Patrick Sadler (Atlanta, GA USA) 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
In my opinion any type of fasting or fad dieting is just mental and physiological torture no one should endure or put themselves through. Period! This comes from years of personal testing experience. But life is about choices and we're free to choose whatever we think may work. With that said, this lemonade diet can run your blood pressure way up, causing that slight pain in your left arm, even if you're a teenager in perfect shape. All that sugar(maple syrup) acid (lemons) and cayenne (red pepper) can't be good inflamatory healing regimen. I'm thinking that true healing practitioners would treat patients with techniques and methods that are more holistic and pain free while going through the healing process.
If you're really thinking of cleansing and/or detoxing your system, try adding bran, vegetables and a little fruit to your daily diet, especially bran. Over a period of time, this should spell out as a major part of a winning nutritional diet formula.
Have followed his advice for 12 years March 4, 2010 Joseph Sugarman (Kihei, HI United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've been following he advice in his book for the past 12 years and have passed out over 50 of his books to others who were interested in going on this fast. Lots of good advice and helpful in starting a healthy fasting program.
Tried, Tested and True... March 3, 2010 Joann Harris (Florida) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Next to the Bible... I swear by this book. I am living testimony that his book is truth. The body CAN and WILL heal itself it you are simply obedient. "Food CAN and IS medicine to the body." I have lived my life with this methodology and teaching facts and without. I can tell you that modern medicine was killing me. I am choosing to regain control of my life and totally support this book as a MUST read/MUST have.
Note: Agave Nector can also be used in place of the Maple Syrup (for diabetics or anyone who does not want to use Maple Syrup).
Basically the master cleanse tastes like a spicy lemonaide. EVen if you have been told you cannot have or do lemons or spicy because of the acid....PLEASE invest in the book and read it before saying "no." Your body will do fine on this master cleanse.
It is NOT just a book on cleansing the body - there is so much information in this little booklet. It is worth the read time and the money spent.
interesting detox January 19, 2010 Jean Butcher 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kept hearing people talking about this and got it, since all I heard was "maple syrup, lemon, and pepper." Always into new things so I tried it. Haven't done it for the 10 days, which is recommended, but I have done it for three and found it to be helpful. If you are looking for a "cleanse" program, I think this one is as good as any. It's certainly a great value for the price.
